Nassim Nicholas Taleb: The Black Swan: The Impact of the Highly Improbable
This book would make a great 50 page article. Reading it is like finding little nuggets of gold burried in dog doo. The ideas presented are too valuable to ignore, but Taleb's writing style stinks.
Sam Harris: Letter to a Christian Nation
I've bought about 30 copies for friends and family so far.
Daniel C. Dennett: Breaking the Spell : Religion as a Natural Phenomenon
This turned out to be a very good read. I became interested after listening to an interview with the author on MeaningofLife.TV
Walpola Rahula: What the Buddha Taught
Given the name of my company, iKarma, I figured I should re-read this text and make sure I'm not offending the entire buddhist world.
Adam M. Brandenburger: Co-Opetition : A Revolution Mindset That Combines Competition and Cooperation : The Game Theory Strategy That's Changing the Game of Business
I subscribed to Audiotech business books on tape and listened to over 24 books a year for about 5 years. Out of all the books I listened to this is the one I still suggest to friends interested in finding a real edge in how they do business.
Carl Sagan: The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark
I bought a copy of this book for every member of my family.
Ken Wilber: A Theory of Everything : An Integral Vision for Business, Politics, Science and Spirituality
I've become quite a fan of Wilbers ideas and concepts. My co-workers suspect I have joined a crazy religious cult.
Sean B. Carroll: Endless Forms Most Beautiful: The New Science of Evo Devo and the Making of the Animal Kingdom
Nice overview of the natural result on the ideas of Wolfram & Schneider.
Stephen Wolfram: A New Kind of Science
Yes, I actually read this stuff! LOL Ask me about this one and I'll bive you the cliff notes version. Big book, simple idea.
Maureen Dowd: Are Men Necessary?
I'm happy just to be tolerated.
